OCSA At The JJC Health & Wellness Fair
OCSA had a wonderful time at the Joliet Junior College Health & Wellness Fair this month. We had the opportunity to speak with several young adults who are interested in spreading ovarian cancer symptom awareness. We were also able to connect with members of the community that we will hopefully be able to partnership at some point in the future.
Cobie Smulders Talks About Being An Ovarian Cancer Survivor
In the May issue of Women’s Health, Cobie Smulders discussed being an ovarian cancer survivor at the young age of 25. She had tumors on both of her ovaries and the cancer also spread to lymph nodes and surrounding tissues. After two years of surgery, she has been cancer free for five years but still recognizes the urgency to create awareness. “Now that I’m five years out, I’m trying to think of it as a positive thing and what can I learn from it. And if I can create more awareness, I’ll do it.” What a remarkable woman.
